About us
Born in Morocco, written for your trip
We Travel Morocco is an independent Morocco travel blog by Youssef and Olivia. We share the local knowledge we grew up with, so you can plan a trip that feels real and runs smoothly.

Our story
How We Travel Morocco started
Youssef was born and raised in Morocco. He grew up between ancient medinas and the road south to the desert, learning the things no guidebook explains: which gate to enter a souk by, how to read a taxi fare, when a mountain pass is worth the drive, and what Moroccan hospitality, Karam, really means.
Olivia arrived as a visitor and stayed for the country. She knows the questions travellers actually ask before they come: is it safe, how do I get from A to B, what should this cost, and which riad is worth the money.
We kept answering those questions one message at a time, for friends and then for their friends. This blog is where we put the answers in one place, in the order you need them.
What we do differently
Local knowledge, honest advice
Everything here is written by us, from our own trips and years of hosting visitors.
We visit what we recommend
Riads, restaurants and road trip routes are checked by us. If we wouldn’t send our own family there, it isn’t on the site.
No tourist traps
No forced shopping stops, no overpriced tours. We point you to the craftsmen, cafés and quiet corners we use ourselves.
Practical and specific
Train times, realistic prices, common scams, what to pack and how long each place needs. Advice you can act on the same day.

How we work
Travel built on trust
Respect for the place
We promote travel that honours local traditions and supports Amazigh and Arab communities, and we say when a site deserves quiet rather than a camera.
Your money stays local
We point to independent drivers, family riads and local guides, so what you spend reaches the families who host you.
Clear about money
Some links earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we recommend. See our affiliate disclosure.
